First day of school 2012.

Today is the first day of school...and we've had a tradition of taking pictures. I had to share this today, as we can't take pictures of the first day of school without thinking of our three missionaries who are not here. Can't help but wondering what they are doing today.
The top picture was taken in 2005- when Jonna was beginning her senior year, Hank a freshman, A.J.- 7th grade, Jeri -5th grade, Addie- 2nd grade, and Carla still hanging out at home with me.
The bottom picture was taken today. Jeri is now the senior, Addie the freshman, and Carla the 5th grader! Wow, how time has flown. Literally.

This blog will be maintained by me, (Lisa--Jonna, Hank & A.J.'s mom) while they serve missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

For four months, we had 3 missionaries out serving together. It was incredible, and a blessing! Now, we have Jonna and A.J. serving, after Hank returned home on Sept 19, 2012 from the Mississippi Jackson Mission. He served from Sept 2010 until Sept 2012. To see a clip of his return, click here:

JONNA is serving in the
Texas Houston East Mission
from Feb 2012 until August 2013.

A.J. is serving in the
Florida Orlando Mission,
from May 2012 until May 2014,
teaching in the Haitian Creole language.

I'm doing this blog for a number of reasons...to document their missions, to share their experiences with others, and selfishly...to feel more connected to them while they're gone. I'll add letters and pictures as they come, and although Jonna, Hank or A.J. won't have access to this blog, comments are always welcome! Perhaps when they return home, they will want to look at this blog, and reflect back on their lives during their missions. This is for my children.
